Directs the Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) and the William R. Kenan, Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science. Research interests include purification methods for biopharmaceuticals; affinity separations of biological molecules including antibodies and other proteins; interfacial phenomena, surface and colloid science; identification of ligands for biological molecules using combinatorial libraries; pathogen removal and detection including prions, toxins, viruses; momentum, heat and mass transfer processes in multiphase systems.
